A unique painted and collaged composition that tells a fascinating story. In 1980, a stately New Jersey mansion known as Kip's Castle was purchased by the Indian guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, who believed in group sex as therapy, as a home for his cult members. “We are very concerned,” a neighbor to the property told The New York Times in 1981, “about our property values, our children and about this becoming an international headquarters for a free-sex cult.” The Rajneesh and his notorious commune are also the subject of the Netflix documentary Wild Wild Country. Perfect for the lover of obscure history.
